Monty Software - Braille & Large Print Production
Monty is a software program that enables the quick and easy production of braille and large print documents, using a PC, a braille embosser, and a regular printer. It is the ideal tool for parents, teachers and employers.
Monty requires NO specialist knowledge of alternate formats. Even if you have never seen braille before , you can now sit down and produce a properly formatted and translated braille document in just minutes.
However, if you do know braille, MONTY offers some powerful new tools, like a 400 word exception table where you can create you own codes and abbreviations, direct 6 key braille entry, foreign language support, and powerful formatting options. For large print documents, there is also an exciting new 'shrink to review' feature.
You can create your own documents directly in Monty and then have the following choices:
- Send the file directly to your Mountbatten Brailler or to your printer for a large print copy.
- Convert the file to braille on the screen and check the braille before it is embossed.
- Obtain a print copy of the formatted braille or large print file. This produces a print copy where each word in regular print is in the same position on the page as the braille word or the large print word.
All you need to run MONTY is a PC running Windows and you're on your way to creating quick and easy production of braille and large print documents.
