The Braille Blazer from Blazie is a portable, carry-along braille embosser and speech synthesizer in one.
When you purchase a Braille Blazer you actually get two machines in one. First, of course you get a dependable, carry-along Braille embosser that handles paper up to 8-1/2 inch wide/ 21.59 cm, in any length. It does well with many weights of tractor-fed paper including light plastics from 1" to 10"/2.54cm to 25.4cm wide.
Three degrees of impact are available, according to your paper thickness. It embosses 15 cps in 6- or 8-dot braille. Braille Blazer Embosser also does an excellent job on regular computer paper and even on smaller items such as tractor-fed index cards and labels.
Secondly, the Blazer functions well as a speech synthesizers for use with any desktop or portable computer. Just combine your favourite screen access and Braille translation software with the Blazer and you have a very capable speech system.
